OUR STORY
Their family and farming legacy lives on as their grandson Ben Younglut, Vice President of Youngblut Farmland Ltd., his wife Erica and their 3 children now reside at the homestead. It almost seems like fate, as Ben's middle name is Earl.
Earl and Agnes dreamed for their family farm to become a reknowned Iowa century farm. Today we are 60 years into the 100, and are bound and determined to acheive their goal. Their legacy is now ours as we raise the next generation of farmers and plant the seeds for tomorrow. Youngblut Farmland Ltd. truely is a family farm.
Youngblut Farmland Ltd. was founded by Earl and Agnes Youngblut who were born into farming families in rural Jesup and La Porte City, Iowa. After serving in the Phillipines during WW II, Earl worked for John Deere to earn money to buy land and equipment. In 1947, Earl and Agnes were wed and started their family.
With the help of Agnes's father, John Meier, they purchased 240 acres in rural La Porte City, where they raised 12 children, farming, milking Holstein cows, tending to chickens and a few hogs. The house that stands on the farm today was bult in 1963, and Earl and Agnes lived there until 2014. Sadly, on June 1st, 2014 Earl passed, and Agnes soon followed on June 2nd. They were good, honest hard-working people that are deeply loved and missed
